We will offer youth in 6th and 7th grade the opportunity to attend the 4 family in person gatherings with their families (these will be divided into small groups of families, these groupings will remain the same throughout the year to allow for safety, social distance, and hopefully the building of closer ties and support).
We will also provide households with the at home ritual for each theme, and with online resources (Two seven minutes videos for each theme: one teaching video, and one prayer experience video) along with handouts to further learning. We will also offer young people the opportunity to attend a socially distanced retreat in the spring. Faith Formation must go beyond teaching contents and providing youth with a language to express their faith and it must help them experience that faith in a personal encounter with Jesus Christ to which this retreat is oriented.
Additionally, we will offer an opportunity for 6th and 7th graders to gather on Zoom once a month to have some fun, talk about our faith, and have a moment of prayer.
There will also be opportunities throughout the year for youth in person gatherings (when feasible to gather) for fun and service.
For Youth 8th-12th Grade
Young people in Eighth and Ninth grade are invited to prepare to celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation (see our Confirmation page for details on the Sacrament).
All 8th through 12th graders are invited to be part of our Sr. High Youth Ministry. We will offer youth the opportunity to attend the 4 family in person gatherings with their families (these will be divided into small groups of families, these groupings will remain the same throughout the year to allow for safety, social distance, and hopefully the building of closer ties and support).
We will also provide their households with the at home ritual for each theme and with online resources (Two seven minutes videos for each theme: one teaching video and resources, and one prayer experience video) along with handouts to further learning. They will also have the opportunity to attend a socially distanced retreat in the spring. Faith Formation must go beyond teaching contents and providing youth with a language to express their faith and it must help them experience that faith in a personal encounter with Jesus Christ to which this retreat is oriented.
Additionally, we will offer eight through twelfth graders an opportunity to gather on Zoom once a month to have some fun, talk about our faith, and have a moment of prayer.
There will also be opportunities throughout the year for youth in person gatherings (when feasible to gather) for fun and service.
Registering does not mean that you must do everything, it means that you will have the opportunities and receive all the resources.
